Stop Trying to Be Perfect — Just Outline Your Videos. How To Tips.

Here’s one of the biggest mistakes I see people make when starting with video:

They try to write out every single word.

And what happens?

They sound stiff, nervous, and unnatural — like they’re reading from a script.

Here’s the truth: you don’t need a script. You just need an outline.

Outlining helps you sound real and confident while keeping you on track. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Pick your topic – Choose one idea per video. (Example: “3 things to know before buying your first home.”)
  2. Write 3–4 key points – Just bullet out what you want to say, in order.
  3. Add a quick story or example – Real-life moments make your video more relatable.
  4. End with a simple call to action – Like, “Download my free guide” or “DM me if you have questions.”

That’s it. No long script. No memorizing. Just you, talking naturally about what you already know.

When you sound like yourself, people listen.
And when people feel like they know you, they reach out.

If you’ve been thinking about doing more video for your business but keep telling yourself you’re not ready yet — this message is for you. A few days ago, I decided to post a quick, unpolished TikTok video to promote a small networking event I was hosting. No fancy setup. No editing. Just me, walking and talking to my phone. Within hours, the video started blowing up — hundreds of comments, thousands of views, and people asking how they could join the group. By the next morning, it had over...
