If I could give you just one piece of marketing advice today, it would be this: Stop chasing viral content. I know it sounds strange because everyone seems to be talking about getting more views, more followers, and more subscribers. But those numbers don't automatically bring you more customers. What does? Creating content for the people who actually live where you do business. I call this local authority content. If you're a real estate agent, talk about neighborhoods, new restaurants, local events, schools, parks, road projects, or new businesses opening in your area. If you're a small business owner, highlight what's happening in your community. Share local events, feature neighboring businesses, answer questions people in your town are asking, or explain changes that affect local customers. Here's why this works: Social media platforms are built to show local content to local people. When your videos are about your community, they're more likely to be recommended to people who live nearby. Those are the people who can actually hire you. That's why I don't worry about whether a video gets 500 views or 50,000 views. I'd rather have 500 people from my market watching than 50,000 people who live across the country. Your goal isn't to become internet famous. Your goal is to become the most recognized expert in your local market. This week, challenge yourself to create one video about something happening in your community. It could be:
Keep showing up consistently, and over time you'll become the person people think of when they need your product or service. That's how local authority is built. Talk soon, Cas P.S. - If you would like to talk more about how we can help you with your marketing click here |

Then someone tells you that you also need to post on social media three or four times a week. But what are you supposed to talk about? That's exactly why we...
If you’ve been posting on social media for months—or even years—but you’re not getting the leads you expected, you’re not alone. I recently completed a content audit for a real estate agent who had been posting consistently every week for the past three years. She was doing what everyone says to do: stay consistent. The problem? Her content wasn’t giving people a reason to contact her. Here are the three changes I recommended that can help almost any business owner or real estate professional...
